These silver rimmed, oval spectacles with curl sided ear pieces, dating from 1900-1910, are in fantastic condition. They have flat lenses and come in their original velvet lined case.
The case is a decorative item in its own right. It has a hinged opening allowing easy access. It is a hard case, finished in black, with the supplying opticians name and address on the front in gilt lettering 'Delora, 5 Rue Lafayette,Toulouse'
The spectacles are able to be fitted with modern prescription lenses. The frames are made of silver coloured metal, probably polished steel. There are no makers marks. They have a W bridge and centre joints, typical of the early 1900's.
These would appeal equally to a collector, as a prop for photographs, as a decorative item, or to someone who enjoys wearing antique spectacles on a daily basis.
Although there are signs of wear and scuffing to the case. in keeping with an item that is over 100 years old and would have been in daily use, both the spectacles and case are in a seldom found vintage condition.
