A distinctive steampunk necklace earring set for the discerning collector.
The necklace begins with a circular filigree base to which a large contemporary decorative gear is affixed. Atop it is an antique 'Diadem' pocket watch movement made by Hampton circa 1910. It is beautifully guilloche engraved all over its surface and embellished with a wide array of layered gears – some of which are topped with sparkling clear diamantine crystals. In the centre is a matte jet AB cabochon. Surrounding the watch movement are eight watch movement rubies harvested from vintage watch movements. The reverse side of the pendant is completed with a circular brass blank for a nicely finished appearance.
From the lower edge of the pendant dangle three items. The first is an Eiffel Tower which is lightly glazed in both gold and verdigris tones. In the centre is an abalone shell affixed to a lacy connector with a clasp end dangling from it. The clasp end is embellished with a tiny watch movement gear on one side and an amber Swarovski crystal on the other. Next to it is an owl charm. The owl is lightly glazed with umber and verdigris to highlight its beautiful details.
The pendant, including the charms, measures 2 3/4" in length x 1 1/2" in width and is equipped with a 20" chain. The chain is bisected by two short lengths of beaded chain for added visual interest
The earrings consist of Victorian style delicately scrolled settings with larger versions of the jet AB cabochons and the same clasp ends as the one found on the necklace and embellished in the same fashion with tiny watch movement gears and amber Swarovski crystals. The earrings are very lightweight and measure 1 1/4" in length x 3/8" in width.
