This is an old and heavy brass telephone part, I am not entirely certain however what it exactly is.
I think it's very cool though and the black caps (plastic) do screw on and off very easily.
There is nowhere that I can see holes for cables or anything (except for the two on the front), it is completely closed off, so not a clue how it works, but it would be great for steampunk projects or a Frankenstein lab.
It weighs 722 grams and the plate in the back that you can use to bolt it onto something measures 13 cm.
It is roughly 95 mm high (including the screw on tops).
