Handmade brooch with an octopus inside in a birdcage illustration.
STORY OF THIS JEWEL
This jewel has been created with a printed image of an octopus hanging inside a vintage birdcage. The original drawing is handmade on paper using fine liner ink and dotwork technique, and than printed in small size to become a cameo. As jewel is available in different sizes as pendant, brooch and ring.
The illustration inside the cameo is printed in a very small scale, but the creation of the original artwork from which it comes took a lot of time and care: in this little jewel is enclosed a big amount of my art!
Not all of my drawings are suitable to become a jewel: I choose the illustrations that better fits the round or the oval cameos, being careful not loosing too much resolution and always trying to create something beautiful and unique to wear. I also care about your opinion: most of the illustrations I turned into jewels are those my followers loved the most and asked for.
TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS
The cameo covering is in glass and the size is 4 x 3 cm (oval)
The jewel frame is in zinc alloy, and is available in different colours: bronze, antique silver and black.
The design is as in the pictures: with small decorations all around jewel frame.
The jewel total size including the decoration is 5 x 3,5 cm
Each piece is created 100% by me in all production phases. I draw the original illustration, than I generate the graphic file to print. After that I hand craft the jewel and also the ideation and creation of the packaging is done by me.
Most of my original artworks are big and well detailed drawings made with pencil or fineliner using dotwork technique: in a small cameo is impossible to have such details definition, that’s why the prints are made on a special patinated paper that gives intensity to the designs. The cover is made of enlarging glass to gave a tridimensional effect to the illustration inside the cameo. The glass cover is applied to the print with a specific glue that avoid any kind of stain or corrosion on the paper, than the cameo is attached to the jewel structure.
CARE OF THE JEWEL
The glass cover is applied with heavy glue that protects the illustration, but even so the jewel must be kept away from the water to avoid any kind of infiltrations that may ruin the paper under the cameo and the jewel. Do not wet, do not let under the direct sun light and remember to put it in some safe place, away from heat sources. You can clean the cover with a cloth and a glass cleaner.
CUSTOMIZATION
I turn my drawings into many jewels: pendants, brooches and rings. For some models there are different sizes or jewels designs, chain length (long/short) and color (silver, bronze or black). I will always include the different options to select when available: if you can’t find the combination you love, if it is sold out, if you saw a jewel design used for another drawing but not for the one you would like to buy or if you have any other custom inquiry: write to me and I will try to create your dream jewel!

PACKAGING
Each jewel will arrive to you packed with care and love for details, but if you need a gift pack to make your jewel even more special you can write to me or select the gift option. I’ll be happy to help you!
SHIPMENT
The standard shipment set for this order is Posta 1, an economic and fast shipment method provided by the Italian mail service Poste Italiane. But if you would like to always track your pack, you can make an upgrade before checkout by selecting the Trackable mail method.
Once received your order I’ll take care of it and in few days I will be able to ship it. I always try my best to send it out very quickly, but sometimes work or motherhood issues may cause a little delay. I will always inform you through the order message system here on Etsy. Once ready, I’ll ship your pack from Milan (Italy) and according to your location you should receive it in 1/3 days if you are in Italy otherwise 5/10 days for foreign Countries.
