Styled after historical petticoats, this four-teared petticoat is just what you need. Perfect for renaissance festivals, civil war reenactment, cosplay, steampunk, and beyond. Traditionally used to give extra body to skirts and dresses, this can also be worn on its own as a statement piece. Petticoats are wonderful additions on top of hoop skirts thanks to the fact that they can help soften the lines and ridges of the hoops and can make a world of difference to the silhouette and shape. It wasn’t uncommon for women to wear mutable petticoats at a time. If you wish to have mutable petticoats but only want to deal with one waist band, please contact us for a custom piece.
Our petticoats have a gathered waist band with a braided cord draw string. Eight inches of the center front are stitched flat to give a smoother line and look. The bottom hem is edged in lace. 100% cotton will be much softer against your skin and won’t itch like tulle, eliminating the need for a slip.
Because we live in modern times and it could be considered unsightly for a princess to be seen carrying a cellphone, we’ve included a 6.5” wide and 7.5” deep pocket, perfect for hiding modern accessories such as phones, makeup, and money. It closes with a button and elastic loop to help keep everything inside. Machine washable, it comes hanger loops for storage.
We do offer a hemming option for an additional fee. Please feel free to contact us if you only want a two or three teared petticoat. This would be perfect for square dancing, Lolita, and rockabilly looks.
