* These hands will reasonably fit men and women from 5’ 4” to 6’ 3” tall with forearms up to 12.5 inches in circumference. If you fall outside that range, message me and I can see about making adjustments.

The puppet maker stood up from his workbench, straightened his stiff back, surveyed what his labor had wrought… and then wondered what he had unleashed upon the world.
“Gepetto’s Folly” is a detailed, highly articulated and controllable, wearable puppet hand. It’s made entirely from birch plywood, leather, brass and steel with decorative etched designs and hand stitching. The movement of the fingers is both precise and smooth as all of the wooden components (all 170 per hand of them!) were fabricated using a laser-cutter.
The extension action of the fingers is accomplished using common hair-ties, so they can be easily and inexpensively added to accommodate heavy cloth if you use the hands as a base for your project, or if you need to replace one if it wears out.
I made this design with a focus on both the visual beauty of the hand as well as the beauty of its movement. They can be worn as-is as part of a costume, or they can serve as an excellent “skeleton” for you to use for other costumes. For example, making a fur “glove” to go over the hands as part of a werewolf costume.
This is the “stock” version of the design. For an additional fee I’ll happily work with you to incorporate custom engravings/imagery onto the hand, use springs in place of the elastics etc.
