50g of loose leaf tea. This tea gets its name from the rolled leaves which resemble gunpowder pellets. Once in hot water these unfurl.
This is popular tea and comes from Zhejiang, south of Shanghai. Gunpowder tea has a distinctive taste with a strong tangy aroma. Some people prefer to pour the first brew away and start with the second. You might first like to start by just the minimum infusion time recommended and work up to the time that suits you best. Whichever method you choose the result should be refreshing.
This is a basic grade gunpowder and is packed with flavour.
Instructions: 1 level teapsoon per person, Water: 75-80C, Infusion: 1-3 mins
Suitable for Re-infusion.
