Beginning with the necklace pendant: This piece was built around a portion of an antique Elgin 'PERFECTION' antique pocket watch (the word 'PERFECTION' running vertically on the piece can be clearly seen in the close-up photo). This portion of the pendant has been Guilloche etched in a striped pattern that shifts in the light. Beside it is a silver plated, gently smiling moon which has been set on an antique pocket watch gear and then affixed to a decorative, laser cut brass gear. A wide variety of antique and vintage gears, and other fascinating watch parts, embellish this assemblage to give this portion of the piece a very mechanical appearance. To give it a bit of sparkle, there is an amber Swarovski crystal in the centre of one of the gears, and a star with a vintage, pale blue cabochon dangles from the left side below the moon. The reverse side of this portion of the pendant is completed with a large decorative gear in a bronze tone followed by a flower filigree for a nicely finished look.
From the base of the pendant dangles an antique skeleton key. On its reverse side it is stamped with: Stamford Yale & Towne Mfg. Co. Conn. U.S.A. It has a wonderful patina. The open spaces on the upper left and right portions of the key are fitted with bright vintage gears. To its central surface is affixed a Victorian style clock hand which has been liberally embellished with a lovely selection of tiny antique and vintage gears and another amber Swarovski crystal.
The entire pendant measures 4 1/2" in length x 1 5/8" in width and is equipped with a 26" chain.
The earrings made to match this pendant feature in their upper portions vintage watch movements embellished with vintage, pale blue cabochons and amber Swarovski crystals. They are affixed to brass settings and completed on their reverse sides with brass blanks and silver toned circular filigrees for a nicely finished appearance. Below the watch movements dangle silver toned stars and pocket watch keys embellished with vintage, glimmering, gold harlequin fire opals.
The earrings measure 2 5/8" in length x 5/8" in width.
