A set of these tables were originally designed as a one-off for a client and were intended to be used outside as occasional tables. The brief was to make them interesting and unusual and capable of taking a plate of food and a glass of wine. A very open brief, but one which gave me a free hand to work with. The materials used present contrasting textures and colours but also reflect the environment in which they are placed. The tables look just as much at home in the greenery of a wild garden as they do in a dark sitting room of a Victorian cottage or the sharp, clinical setting of a modern patio. The darker metal is mild steel which was deliberately chosen as it will rust if left outside. The black oxide coating that colours the metal with initially take on an orange blush which will become deeper with time. The natural elements will do the rest of the work and in time the orange rust from the mild steel will start to run down the bright silver of the stainless steel legs.
A set of these tables identical to those in the photographs costs £450, but I am happy to work with other combinations of materials, designs or sizes. The price will obviously reflect the cost of the materials and work required. Whether you have a specific design that you would like me to consider or if you have an open ended design brief, just as I was given for the original items, please get in touch.
The listing shows cost of postage to UK and the rest of the world, but obviously I am happy for customers to collect finished items from my workshop by appointment.
