DESCRIPTION.
Many hours went into the making of this lovely antique-style steampunk skirt; from tea-dyeing fabric to coffee-dyeing the 'antique' scrolls, and not to mention all the care and attention to the other cute embellishments!
The skirt is made out of cotton calico fabric tea-dyed and distressed by me for that nostalgic antique look. The waistband is made out of organic cotton crepe fabric lined with cream cotton drill for structure. Tied with jute string, the coffee-dyed scrolls on the waistband feature faint calligraphy. Placed further to the right is a cute hot air balloon cutout using polyester felt made out of recycled bottles! Attached to the beige cotton crochet trimmings are a vintage silver button and small chains. The skirt also comes with a cute steampunk brooch handmade by me using USA-made brass pieces.
The skirt also features small pleats and bustle details along the bottom hem and back made from the same cotton crepe fabric as the waistband but are finished with gold-coloured narrow hemming. The crepe back trails can also be pulled over the shoulders to create faux 'suspenders.' The skirt closes with white plastic snap buttons or brass buttons and an organic cotton tape zipper with brass teeth.
Wear the skirt as a statement piece as part of a steampunk costume, or style it for a cottage, mori girl look. For informal wear, simply remove the scrolls and chains. Have lots of fun with the styling and do share your ideas.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Tea-dyed fabric when dyed without the use of chemicals fades a little over time. To protect the tea-dyed colour, hand wash the skirt in cold water and line dry in partial shade away from the full sun. Use clear/colourless eco-friendly detergent with non-optical brighteners. Remove the brooch, chains, and scrolls first.
The brass pieces used to make your brooch are finished with a professional lead-free oxidation process. The brass manufacturer recommends the following cleaning instructions: use a damp cloth only (no jewellery detergents, special cleaning cloths etc, as these will damage the surface of the brass).
POSTAGE COSTS
The postage costs for the skirt are $24.90 AUD for international customers and $12 AUD for Australian customers. International packages will be shipped with online tracking, and usually delivers in 2 weeks after despatch.
Purchases of 2 or more items receive a postage discount, which is automatically calculated upon adding items to cart. Please rest assured that any overpaid postage will be refunded, once I post your package and receive confirmation of the exact postage costs. If I undercharge, however, I will pay the additional postage fees at my own expense.
