This truly is a one of a kind upcycled jacket.
It was originally a very dull and plain Marks and Spencer jacket which I have transformed using pleated satin fabric on the cuffs and collar. I have added more wool appliqué to the back, front and both sleeves, stitched on by hand. I have also added three large beads to the front that sit over the three snap fitting closures.
I cut the front away then added two lines of machine zigzag stitch to give that lovely waterfall effect and to protect the edge from fraying and then continuing this stitch around the back.
The original labels are still on the jacket and state that is a size 12 and fabric construction is 75% Wool, 25% Polyamide.
I'm really pleased with the way this turned out and the wearer will know that this truly is a unique piece.
