Antique navy blue mohair Victorian jacket…
such a stunning and unique piece
I believe the fabric is a navy blue mohair, it has a lot of texture and is a tad shaggy
beautiful black satin trim around collar and down front opening and extends into long tassels down the front. the satin is braided with black cord and the tassels feature rosettes and fringe at the bottom.
hook and eye front closure and they all seem to be intact and functional!
 tall stand up collar
shoulder flaps are trimmed in black lace and ribbon and feature a ball tassel trim
long curved sleeves with wide fold back cuffs trimmed in more black ribbon
nipped waist with double tuxedo back flaps
lined in a cream silk satin
overall this coat is in very good shape for its age! flaws to note: smells strongly of mothballs, silk lining is torn and stained at armpits. with a professional cleaning and a bit of restoration this will be one amazing piece of history for wear or display!
