A handmade French vintage petticoat half slip underskirt in white cotton with 2 tucks and crochet lace trim around the hem. There is a tiny hand embroidered monogram for the initials FS, this has faded to a soft pink color. It has a drawstring waist at the back and a shaped waistband at the front. It is a very large size. It probably dates to the early 20th century circa the 1910s – 1930s.
This is a really lovely wearable garment.
Measurements:
The front waistband is 19.5 inches across (49.5 cm)
The back gathered section is 81 inches with the ties undone (205 cm)
With the drawstrings fully drawn and tied the smallest waist size is 39 inches (99 cm)
Length is 36 inches (91.5 cm)
Weight: 295g
It is in good condition with 1 pinprick hole and a small grubby mark.
