Hand-made alethiometer fob chains from the classic fantasy trilogy His Dark Materials. All proceeds are in aid of the Organisation for Transformative Works.
How would you wear your alethiometer? Alethiometer fob chains allow you to keep your truth-telling device close at hand, with a stylish bronze fob chain which clips on to the waistband of a pair of trousers, the edge of a waistcoat or jacket, or whatever you want! Wear it to add a touch of retro or steampunk with a fannish twist to an ordinary outfit, or to finish a steampunk outfit with a fantasy touch.
Each alethiometer is made from an ordinary bottle cap and painted with acrylic paint in bronze or copper. The small alethiometers are 3cm (1 1/8 in) across and 1cm (1/2 in) deep. The large variety are 4cm (1 1/2 in) across and 1cm (1/2 in) deep. Chains are 36cm (14 1/8 in) long and bronze in colour.
Where is the money going? The Organisation for Transformative Works, or OTW, is a non-profit group which supports fan works in various ways.
