Say goodbye to boring badge and keycard holder reels with fraying fabric cords. This durable badge holder reel clips to your belt with a 1-3/8" steel spring clip and features a 1-3/4" diameter antiqued brass clockwork and gauge decoration, with a swivel-clip and steel cable that will outlast any normal retractable badge holder you've had before.
The heavy-duty braided steel cable is just like those used in industrial applications (albeit smaller than the ones used as tension members in bridges). Including the attached swivel loop and plastic badge holder strap, it extends from 2" in fully retracted mode to 24" fully extended. The steel
cable has an outer diameter of 0.04" and is coated with clear vinyl to protect it from the elements and from overuse. Unlike in standard belt clip badge holders, where the string is fabric and the body is plastic, on this heavy duty durable badge holder the (1/2" thick) body is made of black-painted aluminum, and the internal spring is made of steel.These badge holders withstand extra-nervous fidgeters and fascinated 2-year-olds with ease. "Hanging spring clip" is a black spring clip at the top of the badge holder, which lets you hang it from a belt loop, lanyard, bag strap, edge of your pocket, or pretty much anywhere with a loop. The spring clip is quite sturdy, and I have found that it holds on all day with no troubles when I clip it to the waistband of my pants if I don't have a belt or belt loops. The back of the hanging spring clip style is shown in Image 3.
"Fixed belt clip" slips over your belt and lets your badge, keys, etc, hang down. Sadly, I am unable to source a reel for this that has both the ultra-durable steel cable and also swivels against your belt.
"Pinback," not shown, pins to your jacket lapel or similar sturdy fabric. The pin is oriented up-down.
