Handmade in milliners quality buckram and hand covered in decoupage layers of antique styled paper, it is trimmed with a heavy mix of antique French lace, Swarovski crystals, brocade trim, paper flowers, vintage buttons, cotton lace, antique brass charms and scrapbook butterflies. This hat really is a one off that will turn heads!
The hat is lightweight and very easy to wear, it can easily be positioned and secured at the appropriate 'jaunty' angle, with the elastic strap hidden from sight under your hair.
All my hats are made from scratch, they are NOT covered cheap hat bases, but lovingly handmade from scratch, using authentic patterns and techniques. Every hat pattern piece is cut and put together by hand.
My decoupage range of hats are hand finished with layers of decorated paper, each piece laid on by hand and brushed carefully into place. Finished with several layers of satin varnish to keep them protected from rain showers. My hats are then decorated with a heavy mix of trimmings using a 'scrap booking' technique, they can include anything from antique french lace, vintage buttons and a multitude of hand made bows, rosettes and ruffles. Each hat takes many hours to finish!
Please note that as I used many vintage, up-cycled and limited edition items with my hats, your final hat may not look 'exactly' as the sample in the picture… as it will be a one of a kind creation, but I can promise it will look as close as I can get to this, and guarantee you won't be disappointed!
