Filigree Carved Shell Cameo Collar Brooch Pin by WhimsicalFig

Beautiful oval shell cameo collar brooch with an older style roll clasp fastener. The cameo is claw set into a metal and enamel filigree setting.

Please see all photographs. This brooch is in good, wearable vintage condition, and an ideal accessory for a vintage costume. The clasp and pin are in good working order and the cameo is undamaged.

Close inspection of the brooch will reveal some age related wear. There are some chips to the black enamel surrounding the cameo, and the filigree metal appears to have once had a gold coating which is worn giving it more of an antiqued effect.

Size approx 5cm x 4.5cm

Looking at the fastener I would say this brooch was made in around 1930s – 40s however it could possibly be slightly older by the style. Although I have a deal of basic knowledge, I am by no means an expert and find the age of this piece difficult to determine.
