~1884 Bustle Dress~
This Listing is for a Reproduction of an 1884 Bustle Gown. This Bodice Style was shown in many Fashion Magazines of the Time….
It consists of 2 Pieces, which are the Bodice & the Layered Skirt
~All Seams are Finished & there are No Raw Edges~
The Bodice is Interlined and it is Lined. It is Boned in the appropriate places. The front of this Bodice has a simulated Vest portion. It is trimmed with Dangle Beads, Velvet Ribbon & Braid. The Front is pointed & the sides curve upward over the hips. There is a Military style Collar & also a Lace Collar. The Sleeves are long in length & have a Lace Cuff at the ends. The Back & the Side Back have short Tails that lay in loose Box Pleats to fit over any sized Bustle. It closes at the center front with Buttons.
The Skirt is a Wonderfully Layered Work of Art & it is designed to accommodate a Bustle. All seams are French Seamed (no raw edges). The Front Drapery is Shirred & Pleated, & I have trimmed the bottom with Dangle Beads, Velvet Ribbon & Braid. The Side Panels extend forward to the front seams. I have trimmed these with Dangle Beads, Velvet Ribbon, & Braid. The Tablier Drapery fits over the entire front & it is trimmed with Dangle Beads, Velvet Ribbon & Braid. The Back of the Skirt is Pleated & it is Bustled in place to Twill Tapes inside. The Underskirt & the Over Skirt & the other Drapery Pieces are all set onto One Waistband together…. (One Skirt)…
The LENGTH from the waist to the floor measures 00 inches with a 00 inch double hem. The CIRCUMFERENCE is 90 inches, which is set on a 00 inch wide waistband that closes at the center back with a Hook & Bar fastener.
This Two Piece Dress will accommodate a BUST MEASUREMENT up to 00 inches, & a WAIST MEASUREMENT up to 00 inches. These Measurements are for a Snug Fit. (If you do not like a Snug Fit, your Measurements should be smaller than this)….
