This Is One of My Beautiful & Unique Hand Felted Merino Wool WaistCoats ..
I Made This Midnight , Fusion & Petrol Blue Top By Firstly Hand Felting A Merino Wool Base Around My ‘Resist’ This Method Means The Waistcoat Is Seamless.
I Added Tencel Fibres & Felted In A Silk Fabric Panel On One Side With A Spiral Motif Nuno-Felted Into The Silk.
I Also Felted In Some Tassels Around The Base & Chunky Felted Cords To Tie.
I Then Wet Felted The Whole Piece Togeth
Once I Had This Basic Piece For This Top I Placed It Onto My Mannequin & Hand-sewed The Lapels & Corseted The Back With Hand Made Chunky Merino Wool thread Into A Intricate One-Off Design..
Felt Is Very Cosy & Makes A Practical & Stylish Layer For Autumn Chill.

Does You Can Get It Dry Cleaned,Which I Recommend For Large Pieces, As When Wet Felt Is Very Heavy Making It Difficult To Handle,Also It Takes A Fair While To Dry.For Small Items However,(Hats,Hand-warmers etc ) A Cool Handwash With Natural Olive Soap In The Water Is Perfect. Make Sure You Rinse Well ( Gentle Wringing Out Is Fine ) & Then Reshape & Dry – In The Airing Cupboard Is Ideal. Once Dry Or Almost dry You Can Cool Iron Your Felt,Making Sure You Use A Pressing Cloth ,To Protect Any Silk/Soy/Synthetic Embellishments .
