This is my most complex, multi-media piece to date. Dancing on the edge of Steampunk jewellery and costume design, 'CloudDancer Ameera' is a unique work of wearable art.

This piece comprises of three items of costume jewellery in one. Wear CloudDancer Ameera (Arabic for Princess) as a necklace, a chain belt and a headscarf or combine all three to create a hip belt with 'tatty bustle' – a decoration that can sit over an actual bustle or simply be a nod to the idea of one.

~ To wear the base piece as a headscarf, simply unhook it from the rest (I've used four strategically placed lobster clasps) and rotate the filigree circles until the 'airship' beads are hanging the opposite way. A length of chain at one corner and a lobster clasp at the other allows you to adjust this to fit, either over a scarf or an uncovered head.

~ The beaded chain can be worn around waist, hips or diagonally across the chest.

~ The Threaded Tattylace piece can be worn with the chain as a hip belt or on its own as a necklace.

Perhaps you could discover more ways of wearing 'CloudDancer Ameera'? This original piece of designer jewellery is something made to play with to fit your mood and your outfit, whether you are a performer,an Aether Nomad Steampunk or perhaps a tribal bellydancer. I have a feeling that 'Ameera' wishes to be worn in public and adored!

Materials:
The long chains, filigree circles and lobster clasps are all new but all else has been sourced from local charity shops, except the lace collar which was a gift, found deep in a family loft!

The vintage lace has been tea dyed and teased and is strung with wooded and metal beads, with special focal beads at the points, 'airship' shaped metal beads and some red-orange faceted beads along the headscarf / base piece

"The Navigatrix spent three months among the Aether Nomads, studying their unique airborne culture and noting how jewellery was worn not for fripperous decoration but for self-expression and spiritual meaning. The CloudDancers are part of the vocational group known as 'Vibrancers', dancers of the Vibrations of life. The more skilled or important the dancer, the more complex and detailed seems to be her (or his) costume" ~From Among the Aether Nomads, a journal by The Navigatrix*
