One of a kind plague doctor figurine. This doctor makes house calls with his pet bat perched on his shoulder! He stands on a faux concrete base with stray roses.
During the London Black Plague, doctors wore these unusual "beak" like masks when visiting patients. The masks were not meant to be protective… but rather they were shaped this way so they could put herbs and flowers inside the end of the masks to smell better. Interesting bit of medical history…
Hand sculpted of polymer clay over wire and tin armature and painted with quality acrylic. Realistic but whimsical one of a kind creepy creation.
