STEAMPUNK COGS & GEARS #2 Craft Sugarcraft Fimo Silicone Rubber Mould Mold
Silicone Rubber Mould Finished items are approximately 10-30mm wide For these more detailed moulds you will need some cornflour to hand. First dust the mould thoroughly, I use a large clean make up brush, this ensures a light even coat. When you have filled the mould with modelling paste (dip your fingers in the cornflour if the paste is sticking to you and not the mould!), dip your finger again in the cornflour and apply to the back of the decorations whilst still in the mould, this starts the backs drying. Leave the items in the mould for a few minutes to give the backs time to dry. This drying of the back makes the decorations stronger and less likely to distort on removal. You can also try freezing the items in the mould but remember you will need to dry them under a heat source, a spotlight or desk lamp is fine as long as it is fitted with a normal bulb….energy saving bulbs don’t give off enough heat and this is needed to prevent condensation forming on your decorations.
