This original piece of steampunk art starts with a canvas covered board, which I have given a textured finish in aged brown coloured acrylic paints. I have attached various metal cogs, key and pen nib charms using heavy duty artist medium. These have been painted and then had a worn look finish in brass and copper metallic lustre.
The hot air balloon image has been hand stamped in black archival ink onto a base of distress-inked card which has been torn to look like an antique. A stamped ticket adds a finishing touch.
Collage on 5×7 inch canvas board (1/8th inch thick).
I have made more than one of these, the photos show both to illustrate they will be slightly different and unique as the hot air balloon image has been torn individually and the nature of blending inks means no two will turn out identical.
