A Collection of 104 Wooden Typewriter Keys. A complete set for the modern PC keyboard. A steampunk keyboard!
Part of this set are photographs of an antique typewriter keys. The other part of the set are digital manipulations to create the contemporary keys in an antique style.
I make these keys by applying the paper images to 1/8" thick wood board and cutting the keys with a laser cutting machine. Reverse is painted black.
This process produces some really cool keys that look old and have the feel of an actual key.
Keys measure about 5/8" diameter. Enter and Shift measure 1 3/16" x 5/8" and space bar measures 3 3//4" x 5/8"
Please note:
This is a steampunk keyboard. Steampunk is rusty, old, faded, obsolete, dark, and vintage. I feel my keyboard captures that spirit – it’s not a perfect thing. It’s artsy and funky and not machine perfect.
