Something steampunk for the moon lover…
This pendant begins with a verdigris oval filigree base. Affixed to it are layered elements consisting of two large contemporary decorative gears – one antique silver-toned and the other bright brass – and an antique ceramic pocket watch dial. The brass gear features a silver plated gently smiling moon and is additionally layered with many harvested pocket watch and wrist watch parts from both antique and vintage watch movements to impart a mechanical appearance to the piece. One three-pronged portion of these embellishments shows gorgeous harlequin guilloche engraving that comes and goes as the piece moves in the light. Additional embellishments are also included on the pocket watch dial in the form of five jet AB vintage cabochons.
From the lower edge of the pendant dangle two sets of silver- toned stars and two dark bronze-toned stars with diamantine crystals in their centres. Between them hangs a drop setting with a vintage Hamilton watch in its centre. The watch features striped guilloche engraving and is embellished with an additional gear, another jet AB cabochon and a diamantine crystal. Both the drop and the upper portion of the pendant are completed on their reverse sides with brass blanks for a nicely finished appearance.
The pendant measures 3" in length x 2 1/8" in width and is equipped with a 17" chain. The chain is bisected on each side by short lengths of metal beaded chain.
