The Hubble Lumia is the latest in a series of Lumia devices using the techniques and discoveries of Thomas Wilfred, the premiere light artist of the 20th century. The Hubble Lumia stands almost 40"high, the globe has a 26" diameter. It is designed to run continuously, and will never repeat itself exactly. The device was named because the patterns it creates are reminiscent of images from the Hubble telescope, nebula structures in the far reaches of the galaxy.

The heart of the Lumia is a series of high intensity LED lights projecting through moving color and filter wheels, bouncing off of shaped reflectors onto the inside of the frosted dome. The result is an organic visual display which is endlessly fascinating.
