The pattern for this corset is based upon historical examples of corsets worn by women in the 1850's-1880's and is appropriate for Civil War, Bustle Era, Dickens, and other historical costuming and reenactment. I have developed this pattern with additional bust seaming and boning, in order to achieve a good fit for plus sizes. This corset will support the bust, reduce the waist, and smooth the hips. It is not designed to lift the bust into a modern push-up look, but rather to create the rounded full bosom of the 1800's.
These corsets are made with a smooth white cotton fashion fabric, backed with fine English corset coutil. All seams are double stitched and topstitched as well. Features steel boning, waist tape, front busk, alterable seams at the back lacing panels, two piece nickel grommets, and synthetic lacing.
Moderate waist reduction is possible with this style, but I do not recommend these corsets for extreme tightlacing or waist training. You want a small lacing gap in the back of your corset for comfort.
