This is a hand blocked wool felt cloche hat in a lovely dark brown colour – the same shade as the darkest chocolate, or the perfect cup of coffee! The ideal accompaniment to your Steampunk outfit, or to complement your winter coat.
It is embellished with a band of gold lace, with a loop and teardrop motif. The loops are hand stitched in place, but the teardrops have been left free to allow a little bit of movement.
This style is designed to be worn pushed towards the back of the head, so that you can see out from underneath the deep brim. You can wear it tall, with plenty of space in the top of the hat, or you can pull it right down and flip up the back of the brim for a different look.
**HOW IT’S MADE**
The brim is wired to keep its shape, and trimmed with a hand stitched folded hem.
The embellishments are individually hand stitched into place.
The inner band is a grosgrain ribbon, finished with an Eternal Magpie label.
All of the shaping and stitching on this hat is done entirely by hand – with the help of a beautifully shaped hat block, of course!

**COLOURS AND SIZING**
Please bear in mind that the colour chart is subject to the limitations of photography and variation of computer monitors. If colour matching is vital, I can send you a small sample piece of felt (subject to availability), or you can send me a piece of fabric to match. Felt samples cost £1 plus shipping (see my other listings for details), but this charge will be refunded if you go on to purchase a hat.
This hat measures 22½”, which is an average women’s size.

Shipping is timed from my confirmation that your order has been dispatched – please note I cannot get to the Post Office every day. If you need your hat for a specific date, please let me know!
