The Heraldic Clarion is a beautiful handmade ‘doorbell’ which is reminiscent of the great days of Victorian engineering. The polished wooden enclosure employs solid brass clamps to hold the horn in place. The attractive copper coloured cable enters the unit through more brass and copper fittings. The name plaque is laser engraved from high quality laminate and sits above the air inlet which incorporates an intricate cutout gear design. To add a flourish of colour, red fabric is visible through the inlet.
The Victorian engineers were very proud of their achievements, the mechanical workings of which were beautifully displayed and never hidden away! As such the copper coloured cable running to the door push is clearly on view. This gives the impression that steam, compressed air or some mechanical linkage connects the Heraldic Clarion to the doorbell switch.
The Heraldic Clarion can be used with any new or existing doorbell switch and wire, so long as there is no other power source. You can select how many metres of the copper cable you require to reach to a convenient point where it can join new or existing standard bell wire. The enclosure houses the miniature air pump and battery pack which requires four AA batteries. The unit is wall mounted, simply hanging on two keyhole cutouts.

• I make each one by hand from scratch using only the best quality materials and components.
• Two screws and Rawlplugs are provided on which to hang the machine.
Endeavouring to allow more people to enjoy the wonderful look of Victorian/steampunk machines, I designed the Heraldic Clarion as a less expensive alternative to my other inventions. Lets face it, who wouldn’t want a working antique style door horn? Also it’s very nice to sell inventions!
