   I’ve wanted this for so long, finally got it, and I am blown away by it. Wanted a wood-elf costume, and this has just the right amount of buckles and straps for that leather-armor wearing look. I am a 12-14’ish UK size, and did get that very size, 12-14 / XL, and it is a tad tight, but does fit. I recommend undoing the laces completely first, zip it up, then tighten the laces. I also have a proper whale-bone corset, and this is obviously not that good, it just have steel-braces. Meaning that you can bend quite a lot, and it doesn’t have the cinching powers of a proper corset, but it is a very decent corset. My daughter who is still breastfeeding was thoroughly confused, and would not stop trying to feed from the top of my… quite ample bosom after putting this on. I wear this over a long, dark green dress, and it looks amazing. The top bit is a completely detachable vest, so you can wear it with or without. All the straps, the one across the chest, as well as the two that the pouches are attached to, can be taken off, so you can wear just the corset on its own. It also allows for being inventive. I took the collar off (which is the bit that made it look more bondage, and less wood-elf), and attached my home made quiver to it, and hung it from the straps with the pouches. The lacing in the back has a flap underneath them that is quite accomodating (about 15 cm’ish), so if you can’t lace it tight, and is left with a gap, it will not be unsightly. The zip is not noticeable at all when done up. Attached a cape to the detachable vest-top to finish off the look.

   As I’m going all out this year, I decided to get this as female affordable Larp cuirasses and corsets are hard to find, so I had to find other means to look the part. I’m a UK size 10 and I got the medium sized corset as this is an Asian measurement, rather than European. It was delivered rather promptly, to my delight, allowing me to inspect the and adjust this bodice. It is well made and has soft bones which run vertically down your body. It is practical and cinches well if you wish to do so but I’m using this as a costume so adjusting the laces was on the cards. As with all things, look closely at the sizing chart as this is very important for UK, European and US measurements. Measure yourself if need be as relying on just clothing sizes alone could mean this garment not fitting you.
