Right on trend, written in Gallifreyan circular script that reads ‘Winter is Coming’, a solid leather coaster for all fantasy and sci-fi fans. Lovely, original design reminiscent of star charts with unique appeal, this almost indestructible coaster is hand burnt onto robust leather and as at home on a modern desk as a period table. Made from the leathers we hand pick for belts and bags, colours and types of leather will vary, but the majority are mid tan with a waxed distressed version for variety. The top edges are beveled with the outside circle of the design cut in for a crisp finish with our two leaf logo on the reverse. If you order more than one we will pick out a selection; if there is a particular colour or shade please let us know and we’ll do our best.
Why did I make these? My son suggested I should look at Gallifreyan script and showed me some images on his laptop. Politely interested I asked if he could draw something up, I wasn’t very impressed – until he demonstrated that the design could be adjusted, sizes changed, lines and circles moved. Hooked. Two and a half hours and many opinions later we had this image, which he asked me to burn it onto his computer bag that he uses nearly every day. I was reluctant to risk ruining it; but he bribed me with tea. Speculating how else to use a circular design we realised our mugs were sitting on the plain leather discs we’ve been using on polished furniture for years. He went home the next day with a decorated computer bag and a set of coasters.
