This listing is for a custom handmade set of Icarus wings. The wings pictured are a sample of my work. You may request a similar pair but each pair is unique and made to order.
If you have certain design requests in regards to aesthetic or materials, I will work with you to design a pair of custom wings using a combination of Maple, Walnut, Mahogany, and other exotic woods. The wings are articulated and rise and fall with the assistance of custom carved handles.
Wings weigh between 5-10lbs and are 3ft-4ft in length. I can also build smaller/larger sets but this may affect shipping cost.
INFORMATION ON THE PICTURED WINGS
The body of the wings is constructed from reclaimed salvaged Arbutus (Madrone) from the Pacific Northwest on Vancouver Island. The main housing of the wings is Western Red Cedar, also from the Pacific Northwest, and black walnut. Copper and brass highlights. Finished by hand with tung oil.
