However, precise spotting of targets, landmarks or just the ability to see further needs a specialist eyepiece. Wearing a monocle gives you the ability to also keep an eye on things happening in the immediate vicinity. Also included are two magnifying lenses, each of which can be moved into place and add an extra dimension for those erstwhile adventurers needing a closer look at this brave new world. This hand turned brass monocle is the choice for the connoiseur. Only the most superior materials have been specifically chosen to manufacture this quality monocle to the highest specification to meet the requirements of the most discerning adventurer of this new age.
The Details – The monocle is uniquely designed by the Steampunk Corporation. It is a hand machined and assembled item using only real brass and leather. The black leather eye cup has leather cushioning around the edge for comfort, then assembled using brass rivets and machine screws threaded into the brass body with brass nuts to the outside for maximum securiy and durability.
Magnifying lenses consist of two lenses providing magnification of 3.3x and 5x. Used together they provide a total mgnification of 16.5x. Although these lenses are real working lenses they are not intended to be used as magnifyers as such but only to add an extra dimension to your steampunk attire.
The monocle has been designed to be worn on the right eye. If you would like it for the left eye, plase let me know when ordering
The 3mm transparent acrylic lens is marked wth a centre graduation, useful for targetting, and is held in place by tightening the front brass threaded ring.
The diameter of the hand machined brass eyepiece measures approximately;
38mm, (11/2")
The black leather head straps, with brass buckle, are extra long and can be easily adjusted to fit a range of head and hat sizes.
