This mini top hat was made from scratch using traditional millinery techniques. The buckram and wire frame is covered in dark brown leather and trimmed in brown tulle and ruffles of a gorgeous shimmering copper and brown satin. The crown is decorated with three vacuum tubes, a switch and some brass wires. The hat is finished with a cameo with the image of Tesla on the front and a big bow on the back.
This piece is fully lined with the same fabric used in the underbrim and trimmings . There are two loops on the inside to insert a headband, an elastic, hat pins or bobby pins.
Did I mention that the valves light up? The effect is quite subtle and I afraid I don't know how it's going to work when the hat is worn.
The measurements are about 2/3 the size of a normal hat, that is, 10cm (4 in) tall and 20cm (8 in) wide, so one-size-fits-all heads.
Every one of my hats is handmade from my own pattern. The decorations are hand sewn, not glued to the hat and most of them are vintage. Due to the avaliability of the materials, each piece is unique. If you are interested on a similar style, please don't hesitate to contact me.
